Default Hi-lift swap anyone?

Anyone wishing they had bought a 60" Hi-lift and currently has a 48"? With my modest build plan I don't see myself justifying keeping the larger size that made more sense when I had a much larger rig. I have a 4xrac I'll throw in if you want it.

What kind of situations have you found yourself in need of the extra 12"? Am I about to sell myself short for convenience?

I bought the 60" and used it for recovery, but never needed more than what a 48" would have used. Consider where you'll put it, the 60" is darn hard to mount. 48" can be secured on interior rollbar, under the rear seats and on hood, whereas 60" cannot.

Below is the 60" on rear bumper. Since then, I cut it down to 53" to keep it roof height, and mounted it diagonally on Expedition One rear carrier.

Exactly. Break out the chop saw and make your 60 a 47.999 inch or whatever you'd like. The only thing that is different is the rail.
