Default Hi NW Bronco

Nice to meet you today (I recognized NW BRonco today at the Tahuya staging area).
I tend to lurk hear in the NW forum, and rarely post unless I have a specific question.
I do enjoy learning new stuff and checking out the pictures so I recognized the face and rig

Looks like you had a good group, hope your day was fun.
The weather held out for us.
We did a newbie ride with a couple of newer riders which was easy and a lot of fun.

I ride (or race) motorcycles nearly every weekend

Anyway, wanted to stop by and say hi!

Sweet. It was good meeting you. We ended up being about 10 rigs. All was good until I snapped my tie rod. Took themickeyd's hy-lift and made a brace to get off the trail and down to Belfair. AAA brought us home. Pics soon.

Wow, what carnage. Great improvisation with the hi-lift shank, I'll file that one in my bag of tricks for sure. Do tell how this happened.

Bob, My girlfriend lives in Bremerton. With my off schedule from work, I frequently do mid week runs at Tahuya while the SO is at her job.

Keep me in mind if you ever want some company.

To be honest. It was a non-event. Just working the rocks at the lower end of Tahuya. Hit a rock, and the Currie tie rod snapped like a pencil.
Made up about 30 feet and then hit a rock. POP.

We sat for about 20 minutes or so trying ti figure it out. Ron pulled out the hy-lift. Thane had a 3 foot piece of cable. I had the come-along and the straps.

Here 'tis.

Made it through the eastern side of the north loop, and then to Belfair Safeway. Sat and drank coffee, (also of note, the fine starbucks folks there fed us what they figured would be thrown out. Breakfast sandwiches mostly).

AAA+ for the money, 100 mile tow, no questions. We hit the Starbucks about 5pm. Tow showed up at 6:45pm.

Made it home around 8pm.

The missus had been driving my rig all day. I jump in it, go 30 feet and break something.

All in all, it was still a great wheeling trip. I have a call in to Sean at NR to see about Currie warranty.

Here's the video:

We have another run to Tahuya laid on for April 1st. A friend from Portland is coming up and has never wheeled up here. You should break out the JK and join us.

Spoke with David at Northridge. I guess there is a thead detailing the issues with my Currie tie rod. There is an upgrade kit out that I have to pay for, but will get reimbursed once I send the old tie rod back. I keep the ends to use on the upgrade kit. Still not a bad deal. And I have to say that Chris at Currie was good to work with. Stated the kit should be here in a day or two. So, I should be back on the road by the end of the week. And when it's all said and done, I am not out anything.

Chris did say I was the 3rd or 4th to report this problem.

I just got mine replaced due to the recall. Same deal although I upgraded my end links since the new ones are so much better (don't flop around). The new rod is so much beefier. Currie is treating us right.
