Default Jeep on Jeep crime... Looking for repair shop!

Looking for an honest auto body shop in Oregon who knows their stuff when it comes to a jeep!

I was driving down a one way and noticed someone coming the wrong direction. The idiot was high out of his mind and hit me head on. Thanks to my smitty built bumper the front end didn't crunch, but there was some frame, fender, suspension, and ball joint damage. To what extent Leif's wouldn't communicate to me...

I took it to Leif's auto body who claims they are #1 in the NW however the shits not fixed right at all, and I can't seem to get them to return my phone calls. I have horrible death wobble now, I feel my jeep is all over the road. The left fender isn't aligned properly and I still feel my bumper is slightly pushed in, even though its brand new it doesn't line up right.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I just want it back to normal.

I hope they don't have aftermarket fenders available. Sounds like you got one. I'd call my insurance company and ask to have an adjuster come look at your repairs. If they refuse let them know your their customer and you expect this job done right. If your dealing with his insurance company tell yours to get this straightened out for you. Unsatisfied about the work. You feel ripped off and the vehicle is unsafe. Get on the phone and be polite and concerned about safety. Don't make threats. Look for compassion not fear....
Good luck and don't accept anything until your 100% satisfied. There are many body shops ripping people off for thousands every day. They get insurance companies giving claims for alignments new fenders. They don't do the alignment and they bondo the fender. After a while adjusters get to know the guys at the shops and then don't want to say anything against them because they become friends. Don't get suckerd by these guys!

Contact your insurance company and tell them you are not satisfied with the workmanship. Have them contact the at-fault driver's insurance company on your behalf. Be friendly, cooperative and write down who you talked to, what they said and when they said it.

Good luck...

OUCH!

That sucks man, sorry. Really nice JK you've got there too.

How did a hit that hard not crumple the crush zone in the frame behind the front bumper?

Is there a sub frame or something they replaced?
I don't recall the frame rails being sectional, I could be wrong. been years since I had my front bumper off.

I'd insist it goes to a Chrysler certified frame shop for frame alignment safety inspection. Safety is the key word here, if it's not arrow straight it's not safe.

Use it to your advantage. Call your dealer and ask who they reccomend for FULL frame inspection, not just the front.

Well I finally got both the insurance company and auto body shop to meet with me Monday. They put me back into a rental and said they'd figure things out. Fingers crossed they fix it proper this time.

They said the reason the bumper didn't look straight was probably because the body shifted on the frame. They couldn't give me a reason as to why the fender wasn't aligned properly, but would look into it.... aaaand they blamed the death wobble on the dealership they supposedly took it to. I told them I didn't care who did what, but all that I ask is it get fixed like it was supposed to have been.

Patiently waiting....

Do we even have to accept a frame fixing as acceptable?

That's the core of the vehicle and once bent it will never be the same. This is just some metallurgy principles about steel microstructure plastic deformation. As painful as it would be I'd fight for a Jeep replacement.

Add to this that the accident and repair will be logged to your Jeep's Carfax history and its value decreased considerably. Would you buy a vehicle involved in an accident that twisted its frame?

Sincerely, I'd talk with an attorney in a case like this. Mostly with such poor repair service and the whole thing not being your fault.
