Went to my sister's house on Christmas Eve and decided to stay overnight. The next morning there was something new in her driveway:

Oh wait!!!! That's my Rubi - covered in about 8 inches of snow.
It normally parks in a garage. That's the most snow it's ever seen piled on it!

So far, since Dec 17th, Spokane has recorded over 55 inches of snow. We have now broken an all-time record for the snowiest month in Spokane history. The weather records go back to the 1880's!

Anyone know familar with the size of a grocery cart corral will know who deep the snow pack got in the Cornelius Fred Meyer parking lot...

The Hillsboro Jeep dealership got a bit of snow...

Find the highway in the photo below...

the snow stayed for over 8 days (amazing for around here where it is normally gone in 24hours. There is still some snow here and there in the yards and 2-4 foot piles where they plowed the roads.

Grocery cart coralls???? Some of the parking lots here in Spokane have snow piled over 6 feet deep from plowing. We have just about run out of places to plow it. It's so bad they have asked the WA Air National Guard to bring in the "big" removal equipment so they can throw it farther back!

Although you din't say where in the Pacific NW you are, here in Spokane it is still coming and coming and coming. And there's no end in sight!

Take a look at these numbers:
Date Amount
---- -------
15 0.0
16 0.0
17 12.5 <-- 0 first significant snowfall of this winter
18 11.1
19 1.4
20 0.2
21 5.1
22 3.8
23 1.6
24 6.1
25 1.2
26 1.4
27 3.7
28 T
29 8.3
30 0.3
31 1.5
==========
Dec 61.5

That's an all-time record for any month for Spokane and the records go back to 1881! The snowstorm on the 17/18th set a record for a 24 hour snowfall of 19.1 - eclipsing the old record by over 6 inches!

And it snowed today (jan 1) with more coming in the next 7 days!

Right now I'm look for Al Gore!!!!!

We're in the Portland Metro area, not used to getting much like you up there. I know Spokane usually gets some each winter where we get a couple inches a year, this was a 40 year storm for us as far as snow. Went up to Browns Camp today and there is still quite a bit of snow up there. Two of our crew got stuck early and it was raining hard so decided leave not long after getting there. The JK wasn't one and actually pulled one out.

OK, yes, from what I know of the Portland area, it doesn't normally get that much.

But here in Spokane, after last winter's near record breaking snowfall, we're getting tired of this stuff!

Last year we were less than one inch from an all time record. Normal winter snowfall is 48 inches. Last year we received almost 93 inches.
The big problem with this year's storm is the fact that the first two days we received one-half of a typical winter's total snowfall!

there may be some new ones and some of the older sites may just be a little further downstream.

A State of emergency is in effect in Clackamas County - 911 is also out in many areas of that county. Mudslides and flooded roads taking their toll.

Mudslide in Lake Oswego send 5 to the hospital.

Another 12" of snow due this morning up on Hood.

Got Snorkel?
