Liberty Loop Overland Trip July 21/22
Several of us are going to do a Overland Style wheelin/camping trip to Liberty on July 21/22. We will be camping on top of Table Mountain at the best camp spot we find (camping is allowed pretty much anywhere you want in the National Forest), which means we'll be carrying all our gear with us including porta potties with privacy tents. The plan is to run the 4W319 all the way to the top of Table Mountain and establish camp. Time permitting we'll be exploring some 4WD trails high on Table Mountain on Saturday and some on Sunday as well before we visit Lion Rock and loop back down to the North Side and run the 4W339 and 4W332 trails back to Liberty. We'll be using fire roads on Table Mountain to get between 4WD trails.
Gary H and I did some of this July 3rd and 4th and have ran the complete loop taking some shortcuts around trails we already know, so no surprises other than the trails on top of Table Mountain that we saw during our exploration.
UPDATE:
Meeting place will be at the Williams Creek staging area where we can air down. This staging area is located 0.8 miles up Liberty Rd on the right. Turn right onto FS 9726 and the staging area is immediately at the slight drop to the creek. We will be meeting between 10 and 10:30am and airing down. We'll leave between 10:30 and 11am for 4W319 Crystal Ridge trail. There will be a group from Northwest JK at Williams Creek Campground that we know and a few of them may join us for the day on the 4W319 and return to their camp rather than camp with us on Table Mountain.
Also, for those interested in just doing a day run, it is easy to return from the top of 4W319 to I90 via good Fire Roads and County Roads.
Those going so far are:
Overnight Group:
Gary T "blueice"
Gary H "gary"
Alex "nwapache"
Don "crashndent" + 3 rigs
"themickeyd"
"cowboy85085" + maybe 1 rig
Day Run Group:
Bill "MysticAlpaca"
Maybees:
Mark "mdash"
"tiltz"
Information on how to get to the run is at: http://www.nwjeepn.com/CrystalRidge.htm and for Liberty at large: http://www.nwjeepn.com/WAtrails.htm#liberty

Keep me in the loop. I'll come try to meet you up at camp after my basketball games on Saturday.I'll see if i can figure out the fast way there.
Do you have an end time in mind for Sunday? After the 339/332, we likely get back to Liberty in the mid-afternoon. So those who need to leave early, can air up from there and head home. And anyone who wants to keep wheeling can cross over and hit the west side of Liberty for a few more hours. Personally, I'd like to make full use of our summer day light.

Gary, I'll be in the Liberty area; camping near the creek off Liberty Rd Friday morning through Sunday. Nathan's local group invite. Pulling the teardrop for the first time; staying near the road until it is better setup for fireroads.
