Default Liberty, Sunday June 3rd

Went for a solo drive to explore Liberty. Never been on the trails out there and haven't been in the area in years. I'm pretty sure I'm going to be purchasing a winch in the next couple of weeks; I go solo a lot so having that extra insurance against getting stuck is going to be a huge plus. All of the trails are open and snow free. Here are some pics:

Trail 4W339: Billy Goat Gulch.
This was a ~40 degree slope of loose sand and rocks that I chose not to tackle for fear of having to back all the way back down. It was rougher at the top and I probably would have tried had anyone else been with me. Again, decisions erring on the conservative side due to solo travel.

Roadblock on FR9712 that I didn't jam over. The snow continued on way up the road and I didn't feel like getting stuck. Too bad since I wanted to check out Lion Rock and make a loop of it.

Nice Shiba.

It's usually not a good idea to go wheeling solo, even with a winch. Post up a run and see if you can find some others interested in going with you.

Too bad we missed you by a day last weekend. Gary H, Alex, Ron and I ran all of 4W332,4W339 and 4W334 on Saturday. We all have heavily modified rigs with winches and extensive recovery gear. We'll do another Liberty run soon as well as several Naches & Manastash runs this summer. Hopefully we can run with you on one them. We will be posting these.
