Default Looking to Wheel between 02/15 and 02/20

Hi everyone,

Coming up to Oregon on vacation in a couple weeks. Checking to see if anyone has time to wheel during this time, or could point me toward something that would be fun or scenic.

I will be staying on the coast, near Newport, OR (About 1/2 way between Eugene & Portland, due West)

If your up to driving north a little ways the Tillamook State Forest, (TSF) is a close place the Oregon part of the Northwest chapter frequents. We could arrange something if your interested.? I know there's a few guys itchin' to go out...

There are plenty of wheeling opportunities in Florence which is a bit south of Newport. I you go North about an hour to Pacific City, most of the beaches allow you to drive your Jeep on the beaches and its easy to find solitude. Cape Kiwanda in Pacific City is beautiful around sunset.

About 20 mins drive North of Pacific City is Sand Lake, a huge OHV recreation area with dunes to play on. You will find mostly quads and buggies playing around but there are some trucks and Jeep as well out playing. At Sand lake you have to have a flag about your Jeep for visability, which can be picked up in just about any town along the coast for less than $10. Zip tie the flag to your tire carrier and you are good to go.

I live about 40 miles from Newport and would be up for wheeling. In fact, Outdoors and I just got back from a great day of wheeling at Tillamook State Forest. Mud, rocks and tight trails, we did it all. Ready to go again.

We will be arriving on Sunday late afternoon on Feb 14th - we are available Monday thru Friday, and leave on Saturday to start working our way back down to the Bay Area.

I know its more difficult to get a group together for a weekday event, but Is anyone in the area up for the task? It would be great to meet some of the JK family representing the Northwest.

Once again ... We will be near Newport, OR and willing to travel some.

Might be difficult for me to get out of the Portland area mid-week for a trail run out towards the coast. I like the idea of taking a "sick day" and taking the Jeep out for a day of play at the coast. What day might you want get out on the trails?

Very Flexible, but with the current job market, I'm not sure its a good idea to call in sick. We need our jobs to keep building our Jeeps

I know what you need. We need to stay employed so we can feed the Jeep habit.

I am hosed next week and cannot make it to the coast. A family member needs to have surgery early next week so I need to stay in town.
