I have one of the small Midland units that I think was only around $89 and with my 4' Firestick and TF mount (the cheap spare mount)....was all well under $150. I put a cig lighter plug on the power and mounted it with a standard U bracket on the single screw by the drivers right thigh. I can put it in and take it out in a couple of minutes and it worked pretty good on the VF run. It is temporary, but that is the way I want it. CB just goes in my "goody bag" with my tow strap and compressor, and a bungy cord holds the fire stick to my roll bar. When I need them, I can be ready in less than 5 minutes during the airdown process.

Thumbs up Cb install off topic

Off topic, I'll chime in too. I installed a Uniden 510 which is the gold standard for a cheap loggers radio. You can pick these radios up for under $50 and they'll out perform a lot of more expensive units in the woods, I swear by these units.
Here's the way I patterned my install when I had my 4dr after this write up.

I can vouch for Outdoors setup. He loaned it to my on my very first trail run and it worked great. I later went with the Cobra 75 setup with a 4' Firestick just because it was a smaller, albeit more expensive package.

By the way, just to partially un-hijack this thread, I still plan on meeting up with you folks and going on this run Saturday.
