Mel,

84 will definately be quicker as going through central OR just seems to take forever...lots of winding roads, but a gorgeous trip. On your CB, once you have the antenna mounted, that is the hard part. I just used a plug to my lighter for my power for now and attached my mount to the screw in the console down by your right leg. Seems to work.

I finally got a CB, but haven't got it installed yet -- just mounted the antenna and ran the coax, so I guess I'd better get with the program.

I'm waiting on hearing back from a couple friends that live in Redmond if there gonna ride with me or not. If they go I'm heading to VF via Central Oregon. And sorry Mel I probably won't be splitting a room with you. But if they don't go I'm down for I-5, I-84 or Central Oregon route and splitting a room with you. I hope to get an answer out of them in the next day or so and I'll let you know. And also would you be interested in my rubi rubber when I get my 35's? I'm interested in some type of trade or deal that would leave me with some TPMS sensors to install in my new setup.

We'll see what happens with your friends. I would rather drive through Central Oregon and would just as soon tag along. As for the motel, I'll make a reservation in my name for Friday night and try to get a big one, just in case.

We may be able to do something about your Rubi wheels and tires. I already have my stock 16s and the Sahara 18s with BS Duelers that are on my JK now, but I really need something more suitable for off road as any of you who have pulled me through various trails can confirm. I am also thinking of going to Moab and New Mexico in April and that would make a real difference. The TPMS are not an issue -- I have my own and an AEV Procal, so I can apparently disable that system if it gets too irritating. We'll give it a test when I air down for VF.

Well, I still don't know if my friends are going or not. One of them just got a new job and she won't her schedule till next Friday. So I'm moving head with plans as if they're not going. So I'm just seeing if you have booked a room yet.

I do have access to a SWR meter if you need to tune your CB antenna. And I was under the impression the AEV procal could only adjust the pressure range and not fully deactivate the TPMS system. So my thoughts were I'd leave the TPMS in my rubi wheels and tires and maybe pull the sensors out of you 16" stockers if you don't really use them. I'm basically looking at getting sensors or at least the value of the sensors. (I think 5 sensors cost around $250) My 35's haven't arrived yet. But should show up before the VF trip. If not...

I'll go ahead and book a room with two beds for Friday th 20th later this week.

You could be right about the AEV Procal. I am under the impression that if you set it for 0 psi, that the TPMS is effectively disabled. The price you are proposing for the tires and rims is more than fair -- I had the sensors swapped from my stock 16" rims to the Sahara 18" rims, but I can have the sensors taken out of your stock 17" rims (they just have to break the outside bead, unscrew the sensors and replace them with a regular valve stem) and give them back to you.

If I don't get my tow hooks and lift on the Jk this week end...
Then I'm not taking the Jk. I won't miss this trip either way, because I'll bring my YJ if need be.
I'll know more this week end.

So what lift are you going with? And what's the story with needing a new rear bumper?

I went with the OME HD w/JKS adj track bars, long travel shocks, & JKS discos. Thanks to David Northridge4x4...
I've seen older OME springs on other Jeeps out last a lot of lifts, longevity wise... And the ride is really tough to beat. The stock control arms on the JK are quite a bit stouter then the TJ's, so for now I'll run those arms.
Bumper?
It needs replaced. See you @ Virtue Flats for details..
So maybe an upgrade bumper might be possible.
I really just want a cheap stock rear bumper for now.
If I can't find one, I'll just buy an aftermarket one.

How much did the OME lift set you back?
And what tires are you running?
