Thought I'd reactivate this thread... sounds like you had a good VF trip, sorry I missed it. I'm back in La Grande again, so if anyone is thinking of visiting Virtue Flat or playing on this side of the state, feel free to contact me.

We made a short VF run last month (pics here) and I'm up for trying to make another run in June, if anyone is game. Work schedule won't allow it sometimes, but I'd try.

Any other JK's in eastern Oregon?? I've seen a few driving around.

Didn't know there was a new club in Baker City- very cool. NE Oregon Wheelers is another new club in the area, too. Does your club have a website or anything online yet?

Naches/Manastash is a good run but you'd have to time it to avoid the busiest weekends and any fire season closures- check with Naches Ranger District in Naches on that. Another option might be a TSF run, but there again it can be busy on summer weekends.

Has L&L made any runs to Virtue Flat yet?

Where is tsf? Do you know anything about the barlow trail between naches and the westside? I haven't been to virtue in a while. We do most trips in the mountains. L&l is just started and for now pretty informal.

Tillamook State Forest is a popular OHV area west of Hillsboro. Most 4x4 users start from the staging area at Brown's Camp. Some great trails there.

I've been over the Barlow Road in Oregon a few times. There's a thread here with a few photos and the National Geographic TOPO map:

See ya around the east side!

Keep posting your runs. I might come down from Washington. I have been to Virtue Flats twice.

Default Wallowa Lake, Oregon

My wife and I are headed down to Wallowa Lake for 4th of July weekend and was wondering if anyone knew where some good trails are to explore around the area. We'll be around Joseph, OR, but mostly at or near the lake.

Just got the lift / tires / and disconnects installed a few weeks ago, so just looking for some easy trails to get out onto and break her in. I don't have much wheeling experience and don't have any recovery gear yet....spent it all on the lift and tires. So, I'm just looking for some scenic logging roads or easy trails.

I'm headed down from Seattle....something tells me this trip will make me want to upgrade to 5.13 gears!

There are some very nice scenic drives out of Joseph. The Imnaha River road from Imnaha south to Indian Crossing Campground would be a good choice, as well as the 39 Road up to McGraw Overlook, or north from Imnaha to Dug Bar on the Snake River (HOT!), or north from Joseph into the Zumwalt prairie area; would all be fun trips just depending on how far you wanted to drive. There have been many road washouts in recent weeks and some routes may be closed, so be sure to check with the Wallowa Mountains Visitor Center in Enterprise for current conditions. July is hot in lower elevations so to avoid that head for water (rivers) or higher elevation forest roads.

Took a nice trip to the Naches area last weekend... Only ran two trails - 4W676 and 4W617.
