Default Need to find a shop

I'm new to the Northwest (south seattle area), and I'm trying to find a shop to get my jeep worked on. Not so much engine or body work but after market parts, specifically a rack I need altered. I went to four wheel parts in tacoma and the guy didn't know his ass from a drive shift. I was also asking him about the best way to go about mounting a safari rack to the roof of my jeep and he just flips through the latest copy of 4WD. Shit, I can do that.

In my last town their was a local shop where the guy lifted trucks and jeeps/ customized rigs/ just a real down to earth smart dude when it came to jeeps. Is their a place like that anywhere from the Olympia to tacoma area?

Thanks

You might also try Auburn Auto Repair and Offroad. Run by jeep enthusiasts. John has a built YJ and is frequently out on the trails.

NW.

I have the rear tire cargo rack. It was made by a guy at a little local shop in MO. Well turns out its just a little too small. I need it to at least fit a cooler. Ide like it if it was a couple inches bigger.

Also have a high lift jack. Need a place to mount it. I came custom bumpers (made by the same guy) I like the vertical H L mount. not quiet sure how to mount it to m swing away.

Any thoughts?

Thnx

If you need to use a shop, no one is going to be better than NorthRidge 4x4

Thanks Alex. It is still my hobby. OP, what is the structure made of? Size of tube, square or round tube? Post up a few pics if you don't mind.

Bob K.

Edit:

We are missin' you as well Alex. You are right, if it's a shop thing Dave's is the ticket.

The swing away is made of square tubes. I guess their about 2 inches. Their is a small area next to the swingaway hinge I was thinking could become a platform for the jack and possible attach to the rack.... With some sort of bracket or something.
I don't really want to rely on the hardtop because I like to leave it off most of the summer.

As for the rack. Ide just like it to be bigger. Maybe I just need to learn to weld.
