First post.
I just bought a 09 Unlimited X. Bare bones, soft top, 16in steel wheels etc.
I sold my Spec Miata (CSP legal... mostly) and my MazdaSpeed3. The wife and I are buying a place out where we grew up (Amboy/Yacolt area) and neither my 2WD ranger or sports cars will cut it anymore.

We got the jeep bug bad when we went hunting with the inlaws last year.

Does anyone know any good forestry roads in SW WA, that a stock X can take? (no lockers or LSD)

Default Welcome to the NorthWest Area of JK-Forum

Welcome to the NorthWest Area of JK-Forum!

Besides being your virtual neighbors, there are quite a few active JK-Forum members in Portland and South West Washington who regularly wheel their JKs in your neck of the woods. Amboy is an incredible location. I have a friend who lived there and had a front row seat when MT St. Helens blew her top. He thought the world was ending. Almost 30 years later, there has been quite a recovery in the forest and that area is full of forest roads to explore. Aside from the usual sources of information about the area, I am sure some of our members will chime in with some tips.

If there is sufficient interest, perhaps some of us could meet up and do a little sight seeing some weekend.

By the way, about a year and a half ago, my JK started out just like yours, a bare bones stripper. You should see here today

I would suggest look at a map and find most any forest service road and have fun.

Hey Elyas,

I grew up in Battle Ground and there are miles and miles of roads that a stocker can take. Head up to Moulton Falls and just follow the road until it turns to gravel. Once in high school and buddy and I took my parents Bronco II on those roads and ended up in Washougal. If you head to Silver Star the roads can get rougher but even then they are o.k.,

Welcome and have fun.

Thumbs up

Welcome, I also have some wheelin' buddies who live in the Vancouver area, and they wheel around Cougar and take the back roads over the mountains and head out into Carson and out through the gorge.
There are plenty of trails heading roughly east any where,
of where you live.
That "stocker" will surprise you where it can go too!
Congrats, on your JK Unlimited..!
