No snow runs???
Looks like we might have a good sized group.... 8 rigs and counting. Looking at the weather it looks like we might have some decent conditions. I'd be willing to bet there will be a couple feet of old, heavy, wet snow beneith maybe a foot of new. Hopefully the snow packs well...
Has everyone been snow wheeling before?
Just a reminder, super low tire pressures (single digits, 10-12 psi is not low), you want very limited wheel speed. Typically you want to crawl and stay on top of the snow. Rarely does wheel speed and tire spin get you anywhere in the snow. Especially if it's deep snow, all that happens is the tires dig and you're now buried to your axles and stuck. "If your tires are spinning, you aint' winning." Sorry, old drag racing term.
I get nervous leading big groups so that is why I'm bringing this up. I have no problem instructing people so if you have questions, please ask. If you've snow wheeled before then disregard all this.
Should be a fun day.

New to the JK crowd.. not new to jeepin…
We’ve been up the Haller pass road (FR 75) several times this year. The last time was about a week and a half ago it was crusty with no base over 3000 feet….and slush down low (awesome condition…J/K), as mentioned before a lot of trees down the good part is someone has done a lot of logging since the year new. I cannot say all clear as the kids were tired of bouncing over trees and wanted to play in the snow. (FYI - the upper end of the clear cut has some really good sled runs for the kids of all ages).
If you guys are open to it having a new person tag along as backdoor for the morning..

Yeah, the snow the last month has been like that everywhere. Once you break through the top layer it was nothing but sugar with no base. I'm hoping this weeks warmer temps and rain will fix that. We'll see on Saturday I guess.
