Over here in eastern Washington (Spokane), the weather is actually quite nice (excepting this winter where we almost set an all-time record for snowfall!).
People not from the NW think it rains here all the time. East or West of the mountains

And when I tell them I'm from Oregon, they automatically assume I mean Portland!

It would possibly help if your location showed more than just "Oregon"????
Notice in mine I specified Spokane because I also get tired of being thought as being from the Seattle area
