OREGON JK owners trip plan
Hi All,
Looks like we're at 3 now. Me, Rugbyduck & tradewindjk. Plan is still the same, albeit with a little bit smaller group. I'm going to head down tomorrow, perhaps not as early as stated before, but certainly in time to meet tradewindjk (and anyone else the shows up unexpectedly) at the Bend Wal-Mart @ 4:30pm.
We'll head over to the China Hat campground, get set up and go explore somewhere close by while we wait for Rugbyduck to join us later in the evening around 10ish.
Either Friday night or Saturday morning we'll decide on where we're running. There's a lot to see and do there. Then plan on heading back home mid to late afternoon on Sunday.
The plan is to go explore some of the interesting geology there and go run the dunes. Make sure you have a red/orange flag if you plan on doing this. You can pick one up pretty cheap at just about any motorcycle shop, or even a bike store. Should be easy enough to rig something up so we're legal.
This is going to be a fun, very light run to explore the high desert. Weather still looks like it's going to be great. Definitely a good weekend to get away from the PDX area... supposed to be gray and rainy up here... go figure!

Rugbyduck/tradewindjk, I've PM'd and/or e-mailed you my cell # and contact info. See you guys there! Who knows... maybe someone else will show up unexpectedly? You know where to find us!

Finally got everything packed properly... just need to fill the cooler with provisions and get my duffel w/ clothes loaded up. Cell & iPod (need my tunes!) are charging now. Think I'll even have room to pack my front Freedom Top panels in the back. See you tomorrow!
Ok, I hope you guys have a great time, he really is a layed back person. I just can't help but give him a bad time. He will be alot of fun around the camp fire and helpful on the trail. I can't wait to see the pics of your trip. Play safe and remember to handcuff him to a big tree.

It was Oregon at It's finest. Great to meet Fred at our meet up and Steve and his kids at China Hat. In the morning we took things easy and drove off to Fort Rock. WoW, the geology of eastern Oregon always inspires me to travel more. The history of Christmas Valley is very interesting and the locals wave more than any parade or county I have visited in over 40 years of travel. The crack in the ground, the sand dunes, pine mountain and exploring the landscape of a small part of Oregon with like minded Jeep owners is a great reason to get out there and do it....... and do it often...........
I hope more JK owners can make the next trip.
