Seattle?
Don't let these guys with all their talk of constant rain depress you too much... There is another Washington, just east of the Cascades Mountains - where we average about 8" of rain a year. Not many people. Not much traffic. Lots of sun and huge chunks of public land. Decent hunting. Good fishing. Great scenery. Many places to camp, hike, ski, backpack, mountain bike, and yes, even drive a Jeep.

It does get windy, cold, hot, and dry over here, east of the mountains - but it sure is a popular getaway for folks from Seattle. I think it hit 104 degrees yesterday. Trees? Yes, we have a few, but not nearly as many as that wet side of the state!
Can't say that I'd be real interested in living in Seattle, but I'd say the same about any major city. Seattle is interesting though, no doubt. I get there every now and again. Traffic seems like the big drawback to me. Solve that part of the puzzle, and it's not bad.
Regards, CW

Wow, lots of ex-zonies in here. Curious what part of AZ you all moved from? I lived in The Verde Valley and then Phoenix for several years before I came to Seattle...which, much like the original poster, was for my dream job. I wasn't really into wheeling back in AZ so I have nothing to compare WA to in that regard. Plus I haven't even had my Rubi for 24 hours yet.
Hello fellow Jeepers,
I am considering moving to Seattle for a dream job. I am an avid outdoors newbie and much experienced Jeeper. My wife loves the ocean and my mother in law loves the rain (don't ask, I don't know why). Seams like a perfect fit but I'm in Denver now and have access to unlimited trails, mountains and not far from the mother land, Moab. Can you guys tell me how it is being Jeepers in the Seattle? Thanks for the help and hope to wheel with you soon.

Mind if I ask what your dream job is? I came up here from AZ to work in flight test, and while I miss home like crazy, I've never once regretted it.
