Default Trip Report: Tillamook State Forest

Myself and some friends went camping last week to Tillamook State Forest and camped at Browns Camp. It was the first time I have been there and definitely will not be the last. We rolled into camp Wednesday night at about 11pm. Wheeled Thursday, Friday and Saturday then loaded up Sunday and headed home. We had a great time. Between the whole group we had two trailer flats, two lost mufflers, one broken power steering pump, one broken front axle ujoint, one ripped off fender and one ripped off valve stem. All pretty easy and fairly inexpensive fixes. We ran Powerline, University Firepower, Cable trail, firebreak 5, saddle up, down airplane hill, hogs back, hood raiser, archers firebreak and of course waterfall. There may have been more but I got so lost I just followed the spare tire in front of me. Anyway, here are some pic's.

Random rock garden that runs along the trail, i believe this is on cedar trail

coming down a long rocky hill on Hogs Back

the filter going in the top of Airplane hill

hanging the front tire

coming down airplane hill

airplane hill is a long, nasty sucker, there are no pictures of me coming down because I put my man card in my wifes pocket and took the go around, it was ugly

the filter at the bottom of airplane hill, i fell in love with these rock gardens, they were the funnest parts for me

parked along the ridge below 7up hill. we walked up it to look at it. another nasty hill climb

a fun hill climb, i believe this was on archers firebreak, might have been Saddle up

coming down Rocky uphill (yep thats the trail name)

bolder humping while we waited for Greg to find the start of Archers Firebreak

waiting to find a trail again

Jeremy trying Can opener. it was way to wet and muddy this time, Jeremy is already talking about heading back down there to tackle this one again

my team was wore out by sunday. They slept in the back while I drove home.

Great pics of a great run, thanks Mark. Loved seeing the Rvs in the first couple of pics, that's what I want to do with my camper. Any chance your group will want to camp and run Liberty or Naches later this summer? Disappointed to see that your 09 Rubi on 35 MTRs (like mine) couldn't make the waterfall. Loved the muffler recovery pic! Gonna have to blame driver choice of line till I get to try it next time. Thanks for posting a great trip report

There are talks of going to naches the last weekend of this month. I'll keep ya in the loop. It wasn't for lack of trying to make waterfall. Even James on 37's didn't make it. Only Greg in his bronco on 39's and Jeremy in his Sami on 37's made it.
