A stock Jeep will make the 4x4 trails in the Colville NF. On a scale of 1 to 5 I'd say the majority of the trails entire lengths are probably a 2-1/2 to maybe a 3.

The two problems I see are:

1. You will definitely get some "NW pinstripping" as the trails are "unmaintained Jeep trails" which means a lot of brush along the sides, but nothing that can't be buffed out. I've actually seen several Toyota Tacomas make these trails, again with "NW pin stripping."
2. With the 4-door, you may have to make a couple of "multipoint" turns as a couple of the turns are kind of short, but again the Tacomas made it.

So you should have no problems! My Rubicon is also stock!

Check out my Rubicon pages here:

And here's some photos of my off-roading trips around the Spokane area:

If you want to get together sometime, just PM me and I'll give you my phone number! I'd love to see your JK!

PM me your e-mail address and I'll keep you informed.

You could also check out my calendar of 4x4 events here: http://www.dog-walker.us/4x4Calendar/plans.cgi although not all events are listed because sometimes the event leader doesn't want too many rigs to spoil the fun.

The best way is to PM me your e-mail address and I'll let you know when something is going on!

Thanks,

Just though of something --

On Saturday, November 22, the Colville National Forest will be hosting their "wrap-up" meeting in Colville. I will be attending. You are welcome to ride along and check out what's going on in the Colville NF.

The meeting starts at 9 AM and is schedule to last until 12 noon. Although there will not be any time for public input, you can find out what the 3 previous collaboration workshops are recommending to Rick Brazell (Colville NF Supervisor) for changing the status of the 21 Inventoried Roadless Areas (IRAs). I do know at the Oct 4th workshop, some of the recommendations were to not change any of the designations.

The North Idaho Trail Blazers are planninig a "show of force" and thinking about a trail ride in the afternoon. You can come along with me to the NITB meeting on Wed, Nov 5th in CdA; meeting starts at 6:30 PM; I normally leave around 5 PM due to traffic!

Might be a great chance to find out more about our only 4x4 approved trails in NE WA!

Default Preferred Dealership near Tacoma?

Is there a consensus as to which dealership performs the best service near Tacoma? I live in DuPont, so any dealer in the Tacoma, Olympia, Puyallup triangle would be fine.

Thanks.

I would recommend you stay away from Larson.
I have an old feud with them and have boycotted their family of dealerships for 18 years.

Stay away from Bruce Titus in Olympia. I have caught them lying to me 5 times regarding service on my Grand Cherokee over the past 6 years. It's no wonder they aren't a 5 star dealer.

If I HAVE to take it to a dealer, it would be the one in Shelton; they are a 5 star dealer and I have heard good things regarding their service department. Oil changes get done at Jiffy lube with oil and filters I provide, tire rotation gets done by Discount.

Stay extreamly far away from Dwayne Lanes. Town and Country in Seattle rocks.

Well, after 3 months in Colorado and 2.5 in Louisiana, I'm headed back to good ol' WA. I don't know if anyone is planning any runs in late-Dec in Jan, but I might be up for some while I'm home.

While I haven't had much contact with them since I bought my Jeep almost a year ago, (wow, that long all ready!?) the guys at Milam in Puyallup were very helpful - especially the salesguy who helped me (he's owned 3 Wranglers and a Cherokee over the last 20 years). They did my first oil change too and it wasn't hugely expensive. but quick and easy. I'll probably go there first whenever I get around to buying a new bumper to see if they'll do an install at their shop.
