Western Canadian JK'er questions re: Tires and Taxes in WA or ID
I am looking at heading down to Washington State and Idaho in April 09 with the family and looking at getting some new rubber for my Dodge Ram CTD.
The tires I am looking at are 33x12.5R18 Toyo M/T's. My questions are;
1) where would be the best location and tire dealer to see about getting a sweet deal on Toyo M/T tires?
2) What is the best prices you have seen for this Size Toyo M/T?
2) What is the taxes down in the state of WA or ID?
I am trying to figure out the savings I would get by buying and mounting a set of 4 Toyo M/t's in WA or ID vs paying $425/tire + 12% tax and levies and fees I got quoted in Revelstoke, BC.
Thanks,
Mike

Les Schwabs quoted me something like $300 per tire here in Oregon (no sales tax in oregon by the way), and they were 33x18's, but I think thinner ....like a 285x70x18. I know it was around $1500 for the 5 of them.
You might do a bit better at a Commercial Tire store. There is a tire store that sells Toyo's on old 97 between Okanogan and Omak that everyone claims is really fair and knows what they are doing. Can't remember the name of the place, but it is either a Commercial Tire or Tire Factory...

Les Schwab wants $375.24 ea. here in central Wa. $1707 for 4 with tax. Not sure where you can get them cheaper other than Oregon that has no sales tax. Sales tax here is about 8%. Hope this helps.

Wowzer's that is cheap for Toyo M/T's. What part of Oregon? I just might have to drive a little further south to escape some tax! Thanks for a few names of tire shops!
With the difference in the Canadian Dollar that will work out to about $415/tire but I would save a little on the tax...and get a holiday out of it!! I phoned around and a place on the lower mainland in Vancouver wanted $455/tire Cdn + taxes & levies ..OUCH
SRJK is probably more accurate on the pricing as Les Schwabs tend to stay the same. I am in Hermiston (just below Kennewick), however Oregon does not have sales tax, so that in itself is about another $130 savings.
