Default Anyone kiteboard/kitesurf

I have been wanting to get into this sport for awhile now but it's expensive and I'm not sure I'm going to like it.

Well I am heading to the outer banks for the 4th of July weekend and real watersports there rents the setup for 24 hours for $150 so im going to try it then.

So my question is do any of you here ride and can you give me any tips to make my 24 hours the most productive and successful.

I have been kiting for 12 years and own a kiteboard shop in Australia. Take a lesson. Your going to hurt yourself if you just put it up on your own.

That's what everyone keeps telling me. I actually wasn't planning on it but I will now. I have to wait a bit though. My mom needs to have an eye surgery that insurance won't cover and is really bummed because she can't afford it so I told her I'd cover the surgery but that puts my kiteboarding plans on the back burner for now. Maybe by the end of this season I can get out there and try it.

Ah one more reason why Americas lack of public health care is stupid.
I hope it goes well for your mom and you can get on the water soon.

I've heard people from Canada say the same thing. It's got me curious as to how you health care is taken care of? Is it just a tax like our retirement is?

Well thats funny, Im from Canada and now living in Australia. Australia has a health system that is a bit like America with a private sector, and a bit like Canada with a Public sector. If your poor and get sick you get treated, If you have health cover and get sick you get treated a bit faster because your paying for it. If you have private health cover you pay a bit less tax but it is means tested against your income.
It has its flaws sure but at least everyone gets looked after.

Good luck with it all and if you need advice on kite gear just PM me. Im not on here all that much, too busy enjoying my endless summer in Australia
