Default Folding Kayak

OK after the posts you guys made on my inflatable kayak thread i've decided to look into folding ones and spend a few more bucks. I've looking into Folbot and Pakboats. Does anyone else have any experience with other brands of folding kayak's??

Woah!!! I have never seen that before!!! I just spent a while drooling over the kodiak with the sail on Folbots site. I love it. That air seat might would make it where I could kayak again?? I havent gone since the back surgeries.

Good luck. Hope you find what you want.
I have bought a new kayak, and 2 used. I got a way better deal on the used ones.
If you get a good brand you can always get a good resale price if you decide to move up. Folboat has been around a long time. I used to drool over them when I was a teen.
And if you are ever down in the Atlanta Georgia area let me know I'll take you paddling!

I called up Folbot and they recommended the Yukon for me because i'm 6'2". So I guess i'll have to find a dealer or go up to folbot (located in NH I think) and take a look for myself.

I have had my Folbot Greenland II for about 6 years and I love that thing. It takes a beating like you wouldn't believe, even being drug across oyster beds and handles rather large open water swells with ease. The customer service is has no equal. I would reccomend it, no doubt. I have a 4500 fiberglass three seater and I actually enjoy the folbot more, plus it fits in the back of the jeep in two bags. One thing the paddles that come with it suck and you will want to get 'real' paddles.

Oh another thing about the Folbots. Go ahead and spring for the expedition package for whichever model you get. You will be glad you sprung for the few extra bucks. And also get the Hull Reinforcing Strips for whichever model you get. They are something like $45 and protect the only part of the hull that really can take damage, the area of the hull where the frame is. It gives you a second layer of hypelon that sticks on. Basically a wear layer.
