I just traded my stock side rails for this one. its a yakima and it holds 2 bikes and swings out around my spare so i can open the tailgate with both bikes on.

Bump...What other bike racks are out there? I have the Smitty XRC Rear with swing away and have tried two different Thule racks already. I tried the spare tire one and the hitch mounted one and no luck. The hitch one would have been perfect but I would need a longer hitch I think. Does anyone know if this would be good to go? Maybe a hitch extension?
Just thinking out loud right now, lets hear what you have to say.

I've got a Thule 4 bike hitch mounted rack that worked fine with the stock tires but when I got my 33's I had to get a 12" hitch extension. I can fold it down to open my gate and for those times I pull my camper, I've welded a 2" receiver to the back bumper of the camper and put the rack back there. I'll try to get a picture up.

i put an after market hitch reciever on and bought the yakima 5 bike hitch rack.

by putting the 2 smallest kids bikes on the rack upside down, interspersed, i can get all 5 on without too much fuss. the yak rack is the best i have used, the straps are really good.

the fold down part really doesnt work with the jeep's swing gate as it is meant to work on a hatchback. i put a hitch receiver on the wifes van and can use the rack on either vehicle. its a good rack.
