anyone else using a DSLR for video of wheeling? I have a canon 5dii that I used to do a lot of landscape photography. I sold most of my gear but am looking at getting into DSLR video. It looks like a whole other world but looks fun. I'm wondering if anyone else is using their DSLR vice a go pro or if its easier to invest in 4-5 go pros and go from there.

I think it would be too bulky and cumbersome for use in the Jeep. Yes, you could dash mount one but I'd be worried if using it off-road. They're not really designed for quite that level of abuse. I'd personally use a Go-Pro, instead. The beauty of the Go Pros is you can mount one on the bumper or outside of the Jeep and operate several together in unison. That's where you're going to capture the best footage and best quality of footage. The DSLR will have better optics but then you're putting a non-optical windscreen in front of it which negates that.
