these are my favorite 4 of the past year. the first three are taken on the deck of my wifes grandparents deck of their lake house. it started to be a very hot day, but then we just sat and watched the clouds roll over the tree line and out of nowhere there was an amazing over cast that turned into a great rain storm. was very cool to watch. and the last pic is of the bridge thats right next to my house. the wife and i were walking the dog one day and just felt like snapping a pic. nothing special just a little cannon digital camera, but it turned out pretty good i think.

This pic has always been one of my favorites. I was guiding in remote AK. and came upon this. It was a winter kill and had been there for a long long time. I loved the colors of the fall tundra that had grown up all in and around it. Even in death this beautiful animal was still contributing to the beauty of Alaska years later.

Ok this isn't a great photo, but it's one of my favorites because of the story that goes with it. A couple friends and I were hiking into the backcountry during the Olympics last winter, when we heard a chopper working it's way towards us. It was part of the Olympic security thing. I mean, it was way down, heading straight for us. I had time to grab my camera. At it's closest, I could of thrown a snowball at this thing. The soldiers inside were giving us the horns, and we were giving them right back. We could see their facial expressions. I don't know who was more stoked them, or us! I snapped this picture right as they came up over the ridge, just before they flew almost right over top of us.
The second pic breaks the rules abit (sorry AK4Dave), bit it's there for perspective. We were standing on the left shoulder of that peak, about 100ft down from the top. The chopper flew past were this photo was taken from, towards that peak, than up and over us!

My current favorite, I went out scouting some of my favorite spring fishing spots yesterday with a buddy, the effect of rising water over a frozen stream bottom was amazing.

It is crazy isn't it. Long ago in my CJ5 I once drove on a frozen creek that had about 18" of water flowing on top of it. It was a bit hairy to say the least....
