Do you want to be a "Nikon shawty" or a "Canon Gangster", that is the real question.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_H8TOKcfjg Ok, on a serious note about the video, if you pay attention to the lyrics, it is somewhat educational in ways...and the guy doing the song is Joey Lawrence who is an AMAZING photographer. He is one of the top photographers in the world despite his young age.

But Canon is what I personally prefer, you have a wide selection of lenses, all thier cameras are easy to work with and learn, and you cannot disagree with the quality of thier L series lenses.

i went with nikon for creative lighting system and i can run 30 year old lenses on my d300 and d90. I picked up a prime 50mm lens for less than 100 bucks. d300 has nice high iso results also.
with that said i have friends with canons and they offer some nice features and for the price the t2i is pretty amazing.

Canon is the way to go very easy for me and if you have lots of friends with canons it makes things way easier. I grew up around Canon's so I'm a lot more comfortable with Canons.
