How in the world have I missed this thread? There are some great pictures in it!
I hike to take pic's, and I got the JK to get me to trailheads so that I could hike to take
pic's. I love shooting wilderness settings and Scouting activities. My son and I spend the
summers traveling to visit all of the U.S. national parks, and have been to 39 of the 58.
Here are a few samples of my work:
Crestone Peaks Above Star Dune at Great Sand Dunes National Park, CO:

Curtis reading Backpacker while camped under Casa Grande, Big Bend National Park, TX:

After hiking four miles from the Yosemite Valley floor 3000 feet below, you'll see this
great view of Half Dome and Glacier Point, CA:

Monument Valley, AZ. The most spiritual place on the planet (well, I haven't been to the
Himalayas):

Along the Virgin River Trail, Zion National Park, UT (the river is the trail):

The view from Grinnell Glacier Trail of Mt. Gould, Glacier National Park, MT:

Taken by my son after climbing up a Class 4 route from Valley of Boulders below, this
is Apple and Pear on Elk Mountain in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, OK:

Apple and Pear are bigger than they look. Note the four Eagle Scouts from my Venture
crew in the image:

Wheeler Peak, NV. High point of the state. Taken while ascending Baldy Mountain on
Philmont Scout Ranch--part of a 95-mile trek:

Deer in Big Meadow, Shenandoah National Park, VA:

Upper Antelope Canyon near Paige, AZ. I forgot the tripod, so this is a 1/4-second
handheld shot:

Spider Rock, Canyon de Chelly (pronounced "shay"), AZ:

Beginning of White Rim Trail in Canyonlands National Park, UT (a 100-mile Jeep trail):

From the top of High Dune in Great Sand Dunes National Park, UT:

Facing the craggy face of Jefferson Peak while ascending to the rock glacier on
Wheeler Peak in Great Basin National Park, NV:

Along the Appalachian Trail, probably in NC:

Brown Daddy Long Legs at Slippery Falls Scout Ranch, OK:

View while moored just off of Oprah's Key West, FL place during a one week, 100-mile
sail aboard an 87-foot gaff-rigged tall ship with Scouting's Florida Sea Base:

Cuyahoga Valley National Park, OH:

Sunset in The Window, Big Bend National Park, TX:

Curtis and me on the Tooth of Time, Philmont Scout Ranch, NM, day ten:

BTW: I use a variety of gear. Lately my favorite is a Canon 30D, but I've also used a
Canon A95 (my favorite backpacking camera), Canon Digital Rebel, Canon Film Rebel,
Nikon F, and various other film P&S cameras.

I don't know how I missed this one either
I'm glad someone woke it up again, I'll have to look at all pages between first and last tomorrow. Incredible, all good work. Oz, that is some cool stuff, nature cleaning up after man!
Lorrel and Zoomzoomjr, great nature shots
Toad, great pic's as always
MarkDorian, nice well rounded group of photos good job in the upper Antelope Canyon. We went there in our whirlwind New Mexico/Arizona vacation 2003!
Flew into ABQ, rental Chevy Trailblazer (fitting name) 2100 miles in 10 days! I'll try to post some pics eventually (56 rolls of 35mm film
)
