Neat little town, every Saturday, the High school girls have several car washes and My jeep was a bit muddy after 2 months

So, I'll probably never wash it again-MYSELF

Hey Jimbo...glad to see you are settling in and getting to know the locals

Has anyone reopened the Wigwam on the main drag? I used to grab breakfast there when I camped at Lahontan.

The food is GREAT and you get a lot more than you can eat

Very pleasant and outstanding coffee/service, the prices are about the same as the Black Bear-which is also wonderful

I've eaten in about 6 of the resturant/casinos in town and it's all outstanding

Not sure if you've made it out to Sand Mountain yet (or if you plan on ever heading out there), but a word to the wise... be careful, on a busy weekend you can get literally thousands of atv's, buggies and other vehicles on a mountain that isn't that big. Unfortunately, many of the people are drunk and definitely not paying attention.

Did you make it into Reno for the rock crawling competition a few weeks ago? It was pretty fun for a noob like me to watch (and my boys loved watching the vehicles flop!)

We went and survey'd Pyramid lake and had lunch at Crosby's and bought some pics

I'm not much into rockcrawling anyway, I don't mind it going to camp or fish, but not just for rockcrawling and I doubt if I'll ever go to sand mountain

We do most of our off-roading in the Sierras above Truckee, Feather river, Yuba river, gold lake, Eagle Lake, hiwy 89 and lakes basin, spent quite a bit of time around Whiterock lake Bowman, Jackson, Weaver, Fauchette, Frenchmans-etc

I agree on the rockcrawling...cool to watch but not something I will likely do. I go up to the Jackson Meadows area a lot too. I was just up there exploring around the lake of the woods a few weeks ago...even crossed a few snow drifts

They hadn't opened the spill way, yet so the Yuba river was still fairly low

I went over to the back side, of Lake of the woods

and there is still snow

Weaver doesn't change much, but there were already people there

Bowman has some big German Brown, but I've been to busy with this house to do any fishing

I'm 30 minutes away from Pyramid lake, but I'll have to wait till october, before I can do any fishing for the Big Cutthroats !!

Last time I camped at Bowman (a few years ago) there was a bald eagle fishing early in the morning. Very cool.
