I was thinking more about this, and it would seem that any cutter with a wheel would have a greater difficulty cutting smooth curves. I'm sure it would work great on the straight sections, but not so much on the curves.
Outer curves could be accomplished with multiple cross cuts, but inners would be much more difficult.
