Default PLASTIC RIVETS/Screws

Today I installed an MRBP Grill guard/Light bar and it looks great. Nice fit. It took me about 2 hrs. to install. But the reason for the post is what is with those P.O.S. plastic supposed to be reuseable screw rivet plug things. Not one was easily removed (except the ones for the grill) without stripping it out and having to pry it out and chewing it up. MOPUTZ should bite the bullet and use real screws since we pay about 30k for their product. Or maybeMRBP could throw a few in the parts bag. I will shutup now. Thanks for listening. Ken

Lots of people report problems with the plastic fasteners.
I don't understand what the problem is.
When I need to remove them, I pry up the head of the center peg and lift it out of the main body of the fastener. From there, the main body is easily pulled out. I have seen some where the center peg has to be screwed out. On mine though, they just lift out.

if you take a dry wall screw and screw it in the center of the rivet about 1.5 turns, pul up on the screw and the rivet will pop out...then pull out the insert...This will allow the rivets to be removed easily and reused

I'll remember that. Thanks. I need to get some of these for future work and just replace them with new.

I have two types, The phillips head type and the pry up type that hold the grill on. They were easy to deal with, it's the phillips head ones that suck.
