Default Hi-lift mount question

I bought a 5-foot hi-lift today, and I was looking to buy this rack mount:

http://www.quadratec.com/products/92200_8000.htm

I have the stock Rubi spare tire, and if I install this mount with a 5-foot hi-lift, I think that it will be too heavy for the hinges.

Anyone have this installation on the stock hinges? Hinges are still okay?

i have heard of some issues with this mount, about too much weight in the back area bouncing around.

I have one with a 4 foot jack and sticks out the top. If you have a 5 foot jack, its really going to stick out above your jeep. This can cause damage if you hit a tree branch. Mine will shift in the holder and vibrate on the highway. Its annoying. I only use mine when I off road.

Two years and no problem with the hinges. I'll probably be moving to another mounting system in the spring (rear tire carrier), so after the last trail of the season (end of october for me), I'll have no use for it. PM me if you're interested - I'm in Quebec.

It looks like it would be easy to get to and out of the way. However if you wheel around trees i would think twice and it does seem like it would have a lot of weight being excerted on the one bracket

That mount is junk. Do not buy it, it's unstable and uses plastic knobs and such. Broke on my friends Jk on the highway leaving the jack to drag the ground. Thankfully he had it padlocked to the bottom mount. The upper mount is junk.

I agree with all comments already posted, the 60" Hi-Lift is very difficult to mount but I still prefer it over the 48".

Here's mine mounted in the only horizontal position I found to be solid and secure, using Hi-Lift's tube brackets (the star shaped knobs)

I have the Smittybilt 54" jack and bought the Quadratec tailgate mount and was not happy with how high it stuck up above the top of my JK. I ended up mounting it like this
