Default Driveshafts??? Which one?

In the market for a front driveshaft. Which one should I go with? Woods...Reel....Coast...etc? Which one would you suggest for an Unlimited with a OME HD lift? Which brand would be the strongest, best balanced, etc?

I couldn't say which one was best, cause I haven't ran them all. But JeReel had real good customer service when I sent mine back and got it lengthened.

Like he said, I haven't tried them all, but I have had good experience with mine. I went with Tatton driveshafts on my JK. I don't have his contact info handy, but you can search for them on this site. He was cheaper and faster than everybody else. He guarantees his parts just like the bigger companies. His shop is located in the Moab area, so you know he knows how to build them. I got my rear shaft for $425 shipped to my door, had it in 2 days. He has JK shafts already in stock ready to ship.

I've always had good experiences with Tom Woods driveshafts on my other vehicles. Though, I have heard lots of good things about Tatton's Drivelines from other people with whom I wheel.

They are all good... It's more a matter of whether you go 1310 or 1350, with 1350 being more heavy duty. I know that might not be helpful, but its true.

I am getting custom driveshafts made when the time comes. You may want to look into that route. Its way cheaper, and the shop near me warranties all their work.

Tom Woods or J E Reel, unless you have a local shop that is as good. Usually the local shops charge more for these as they don't buy the flanges in bulk for these like Tom Woods and J E Reel do.

I bought the J E Reel Canyon Crawlers as I wanted 1350 joints everywhere. I highly recommend larger joints whenever, and wherever, you can. Looked like this when they arrived:

I have always used Tom Woods on my other vehicles, but the Reel's are very reputable. I will probably try a set when I get to that mod on my JK just because they are so easy to order from Dave J.

Unlike many, I usually run 1310s because I want a U-joint which is easy and cheap to replace to be the weakest link. When you push too far, something is going to break.
I am also not running 37"+ tires and climbing walls.

Also, consider Tatton driveshafts. They are a little lesser known, but from everyone running them I have heard only good things. You take the measurements and he builds them according to your specs. And they are a tad cheaper than the more typical shafts...

I know he has an eBay page, but you may be able to find him through Google as well

Do you need adjustable control arms first if you plan to go that route?
