Question Ok... crowdsourcing says go 35s...

So most of the comments I've received are skip the 33s and go to 35s.

I am considering it now. It would mean I would need to buy a rear bumper/tire carrier to support it...

With the TF 2.5 BB w/shocks that I will be running, what "else" would i need to properly run the 35s. (wheels have 4.5" backspacing, gears not possible for a while)? Ie, fender issues, bumper issues, Rubi rail issues, etc etc.

Thx!

Thumbs up

You got the manual, gears shouldn't be a problem...

Why are you lowering yours?

Gears will not be a show stopper, but I think that he will want to change gears in the future. He will probably lose the use of 6th gear with that setup.

The 35 inch spare tire on the tire carrier will probably be fine for quite awhile. I am sure there are plenty of guys that do that. But I think over time you will find the weight could cause a problem and end up buying a new bumper with tire carrier.

6 speed, 3.73's and 35's. I have this setup and use 6th gear all the time. Regearing was at the top of this list of things to do until I tried it out. Now it is near the bottom of the list, PROBABLY.

I run a Teraflex 4" lift and 35's. I had problems at full stuff with them hittiing the front bumper. Hard enough to really bind up (new stubby now). Trim the rear pinch seam. Tire rack worked ok, only if it rests slightly on the rear bumper. My tailgate got flexing after a year. Thankfully I won the OR_FAB rack last christmas!!. You will love the 35s!

I got 33's when I first got my JK about a year ago and I've already talked the banker (wife) into getting new 35 in. shoes when the bonus check comes in March!!! Should have gone with the 35's to start with!!
