Default 2" Bodylift And ESP

Will a 2" bodylift effect the ESP on my 08 4dr Rubicon?

Probably will affect it the same amount a suspension lift would.

Since it's just a body lift, there would likely be no problems since you're not touching the steering, track bar, tec. Suspension lifts would do the latter, then you just need to make sure everything is back straight again - not a big deal either.

You should be fine.

No esp problem with a 2" BL, but be sure to recenter your steering!

Some manufacturers include a steering extension bracket. Also, be sure that the kit includes a rear bumber relocation kit

This is not true. A BL won't affect the ESP

why would you need to re-center after a body lift? the only thing steering related would be the steering shaft losing some travel at the slip joint it. everything from the steering box down to the tires remains the same because all of it is frame or axle mounted. if there's something i'm not considering please correct me

I have the 4" tf lift along with the 2.5 spacers... Never had an issue as long as you steering wheel is centered...

why would the steering be afftected from the body lift. the only thing dealing with steering is the extension for the shaft.
the only factor that changes that could even remotely affect esp is your center of gravity.

Wow. "JK Freedom", please stop giving advice on topics that you have little or no knowledge of. A big post count does not necessarily equate to knowing what you're talking about.

A body lift will not require re-centering steering. A body lift does not move the axle (or more specifically the passenger side knuckle) relative to the pitman arm, meaning that the angle the pitman arm is sitting at does not need to change for the wheels to be pointing straight ahead.

If your first post was true (about a body lift meaning that he would have to re-center his steering) then this post would be a load of bunk! A steering wheel that is off center will result in the ESP detecting a skid condition when the relative speed of the two front tires is not what the computer thinks it should be for the steering input that it senses.

Now that we've dealt with the bad information given to the OP, here's some real information.

Be aware that a 2 inch body lift will raise the center of gravity of your vehicle. Not by a lot, but it does raise it. That means that you're a little bit more top-heavy, and you may see a bit more body roll while going around corners at speed. Take a bit of time to get used to the way your Jeep handles after being lifted.
