Default JK vs TJ taper on knuckles

I have a quick question.

Are the tapers on the knuckles the same for TJ and JK. I am referring to where the draglink mounts on the passenger side knuckle and where the tire rod mounts on the drive side knuckle.

Thanks, I am currently putting a JK axle in my LJ and I am trying to figure out my options on steering and track bar setup.

On the TJ they had an inverted Y steering. The drag link attached to the tie rod, and there was no provision on the knuckle for a drag link.

I think you have it backwards. On the TJ the drag link attaches to the knuckle and the tie rod attaches to the knuckle.

Ok I need some help with my steering setup on my front JK axle.

First let me tell you about my front axle:
I found a good deal on a Dynatrac JK HP44 set up for a TJ. Basically Dynatrac takes a stock JK Rubicon HP44 and removes the tubes. Next they press in new shorter tubes which are 2.75” dia x .375” wall (stock is 2.25” dia x .25” wall). The thicker tubes will solve the weak JK stock tubes. They also use thicker brackets and spring perches. All said and done you have a new generation HP44 setup for a TJ. All the original JK brakes and steering are retained but the bolt pattern was converted to 5 on 4.5. Next ORE gussets were welded on to fix the weak stock JK C’s. The ORE gussets had to be cut down so the springs would fit because the axle is shorter and stock TJ width.

Option 1
Use TJ Currie HD steering and attach the drag link to one of the arms on the driver side knuckle. The other arm on the knuckle would not be used. I hope the Currie drag link has enough adjustability to fit correctly. If I use this method I should not have any track bar and bump steer issues.

Option 2 (stronger and better but would require more setup and work)
Try to make a high steer steering utilizing the JK set up. I was thinking I could use ORO tire rod brackets and have a custom 1 ton drag link and tire rod built. The only problem with this is I think I will have track bar and bump steer issues if I do not mod the track bar mount.

Does anyone out there have any more suggestions? I am really lost when it comes to aftermarket JK steering options.

The drag link and tie rod are one unit. On the knuckle of the JK they connect separately which is going to cause most of your diffculties since it is possible each axle is set up for a completely different steering system. Do you know what knuckle you are going to be using, is it from a Rubi TJ 44, or a JK 44 since this will make a huge determination on what needs to be done?

I did a little bit more research and I found a company that sells a sleeve that I could use to make the TJ steering work on the JK knuckles. http://www.goferitoffroad.com/products.htm
I would only be using the drag link arm on the passenger side knuckle and not the tie rod mount. This really is not a big issue.

I would rather use the JK setup and keep the tie rod separate from the drag link but that would defiantly be more work and requires custom drag link, track bar, and tire rod.
