Default wheel Spacers and their impact on handling?

Again showing my total ignorance, I will be doing mods bit, by bit as money becomes available. So if I get wheel spacers installed prior to a lift - does this impact on handling for example;

1. does the slightly wider stance improve cornering?
2. is there an impact on highway handling?

thanks All

I love mine. Handles better. Less lean on turns. Its a wider stance and looks awesome.

x2.

I have had mine on for a few years now, JK felt more stable after installation. I have checked the torque on the lug nuts on the spacers every tire rotation, they haven't budged since initial torque.

When I had them on felt more stable. I had a lift and stock tires so you can imagine before the spacers.

As long as you don't go negative on offset and you use quality spacers like the TF and Spidertrax the negative aspects are minimized.

You do gain some stability, whether it's that noticeable is questionable, but you do increase your turning radius.

High speed (highway) stability is proportional to the wheelbase/track ratio. You are decreasing this ratio slightly, so the the stability changes accordingly.

Most of your benefits come offroad in situations like rock crawling or traversing steep slopes.

Ran spidertrax for about 10k miles and had no issues. In fact I would say they were an improvement

Default spacers

They do increase turn radius but unless you went out and measured you really could not tell. We drive a 4 door and its a wide turn anyway!

I put my spydertrac wheel spacers on before i put my lift on my 2k10. No rubbing issues what so ever. They make the jeep look better even with that little of a change. I think they should come with the wheels that wide from the factory.
