Default Spare Tire Fit Backspacing/Tire Size?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Jk Is just bought has 33 X 12.5 X 15 Pro Comp Mud Terrains mounted to 15" Pro Comp 1069's and on all four corners. The problem is it has the stock spare, so I wanted to change it out with a matching rim and tire. The main problem is that I cant afford a rear bumper/tire carrier so I wanted to mount it to the tailgate. The concern is adding too much weight and also having it stick out too far from the gate so I figure that I probably shouldn't use the above configuration since the narrowest tire Pro Comp makes is a 12.5" in 15's.

My first question, is could/should I go with a 16" rim for the spare as long as the overall diameter is similar (about .5" difference)?

If so, will a Pro Comp 1069 rim size 16 X 8 with 4.0 inches of backspacing and a 285/75/16 tire fit on the spare tire carrier?

Will it be able to handle the weight?

How much further will it stick out from the vehicle as compared to the stock 255/75/17 spare?

Thanks
