Popping in my steering......need help!!

Default Popping in my steering......need help!!

ok I have used the 5th wheel grease for the clunking steering, now I have a popping sound when I turn my steering wheel to the left and the right (back and forth) anyone know what could cause this....I do have a 4 inch superlift kit installed to...i have had that for over a year...and never any problems, until now...please help!!!!

Have you checked your steering stabilizer for movement and or rubbing. It may have loosened and be catching.

This was exactly what was causing the clunking on my RC 4" lift... the steering stabilizer working loose and catching on the tie rod...

look where your steering shaft goes through the fire wall...there is a bushing there and I never had one and thats where mine was clunking. You can see the ammount of play i had in mine. it took me about a year to find it. this is where my clunk was. hope this helps.



This was it with gravity working.


I was lifting it up as far as i could.

ok i think that is where it is coming from....Now how do i fix it??????

Take it to the dealer. mine was warnity, but the were tring to say it was caused by my 2" BB.

I ended up having to get a new shaft, they said mine was too badly damaged...it was all free so i said why not!
Now ow would some one go about loosing that bushing?

That clunking noise happened to me too. It was my front track bar was loose. Get under your jeep and jerk the track bar kinda hard.
