Default Question about my shocks and 2.5 TF coil lift

I presently have a Skyjacker 2"BB on my JK with Skyjacker hydro shocks. Can I still use these shocks if I go to the 2.5" TF coil lift? I really don't want to buy the kit with shocks if I don't have to. Would like to just buy the kit and use my hydro shocks. Will they be long enough? Thanks

Thanks man. That's what I was hoping for. Don't know why I couldn't check for myself. Just wanted reassurance I guess.

Just a pointer:

If you increase your ride height (Suspension lift), the shocks you have will extend a bit, by the amount of the lift...but, the actual amount of wheel travel itself in not affected, as the factors that affect droop, etc, will be the same.

A suspension lift in other words is merely pre-drooping the suspension.

Questions about shocks for lifts should consider this....as its a universal concept, and the brands, etc, do not matter.

So - you'd only NEED longer shocks if you wanted more down travel, which you might be able to get by JUST adding longer shocks....as a change in ride height, in of itself, doesn't provide more wheel travel.

Caveats are that some shocks can be limiting factors, and some are damaged by extreme travel, etc.

A higher ride height - with longer bump stops (Extensions, etc...) can allow a shock that can't compress as short to fit, and might be able to extend further than a shock that CAN compress enough to fit...

...but you have sacrificed some up travel to get the extra down travel, as the bumpstop robs you of uptravel.

--------------

So - for the question of whether a shock will be needed if you get a higher ride height always comes down to if the increase in ride height exceeds the travel of the shock....and/or your independent wish for more droop.

sure you can. assuming the shocks you have now are designed to accomodate the extra lift you have (and they should), they should work just fine.
