Default Replacing the "Straight Across Rear Bar" in a 4-door?

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has replaced their OEM "straight across rear bar" in a 4-door with a 'sports cage' version like the Rock Hard?

I'd like to get a little more height for rear storage, and the 2-door bar looks a lot leaner than the OEM version (rectangular with bracing on the corners).

I currently have 26" of clearance between the platform (see picture) and cross bar corners, and I'd like to get 28" by replacing that bar with an aftermarket model.

honestly, even if you could hack off what's there now, i don't know if it would recommend it and certainly not with something like this. if you did hack off the factory cross bar, i would have something welded in its place and with addition reinforcement if anything.
