Default OME LT vs AEV Lift?

So I have been wanting the AEV lift for a while, but my wife seems to shop every time I get close to having money for it, so I am thinking about now going to the OME +40 LT lift since I can then build it in more affordable stages.

I am thinking about using Currie bump stops to be able to run a 37" tire down the road, and as I save some money doing the AEV steering correction, and rear track bar to correct the geometry (yes I did drive their lift and like the handling with their geometry), and JKS control arms for the castor (if I feel I need it, but with the 2.5" Tera it feels more stable than stock).

At the moment I am thinking about doing the springs, shocks, brake lines, and ftont bump stops since I am only going to be driving on road for the next couple months with the snow. Before I start to pull the trigger is there anything I am missing, or input as to how to make this lift better than I am planning? For those of you who have this lift is it a firm ride, or soft? Also are the coils progressive? I do tend to travel a bit and load the back and my Tera 2.5" springs tend to bottom out often off road in these circumstances, so I want something that will do well in these areas.

The OME coils are not progressive. Most coils are not linear because it takes a fair amount of engineering and testing to get them right and more assumptions to get optimum ride/performance from the progressive coils.

If you really want the AEV kit, it is not advertised but the parts are sold individually.
You could call AEV and ask them how to break down the kit into into affordable but still functional groups, although their might be a small premium for purchasing it this way.

Hey -

As for the OME setup with the +40 coils - so far I've only seen 2 people with that setup WOL on Nemo & scbesse.

Here's scbesse experience so far:

thread 2

Based on that I'd suggest a front adjustable trackbar as well if its not on your list.

Holy smokes yeah the OME +40 coils need a trackbar and a steering correction kit like the AEV as they are tall.

The issue with AEV right now is the coils I am hoping they get them soon but from what I have been told is late feb early march.

I was planning the AEV front steering correction with their rear track bar tower & track bar, just maybe like 2 weeks down the road.

If I used 2.5" OME springs would a 4" bumpstop like a Currie still fit in there to run a 37" tire down the road, or would I always be resting on my bumptops. If I went the entire AEV suspension I would get the 3.5", so I am not necessarilly looking for tall, but I am tired of getting high centered. It makes me not want to air down since I need all the clearance I can get.

David - just a confirmation:

does the AEV kit work with a JKS front trackbar brace?

also from what I understand the AEV kit hits the C-gussets? (but can be made to fit?)

I am not sure if it works with the JKS front Trackbar brace my Guess is no it wont work.

On the C-gussets you can get those to work.

I am not sure the 4" Bumpstops would be the best . The best thing to do is get the kit on and take some measurements. I have never tried putting a 4" bumpstop on the OME kit.
