Just drove a stick shift JK
So I was intrigued after reading a few posts on how much different a stick was compared to an auto. Everyone is right, its a lot different. The auto was my choice after thinking long term and having babies. Now I second guess my choice and have the dealer looking into a used Rubi Unlimited. If the price is right I might do it although I would prefer an already modded one! Anybody else have the same kind of experience?

stay with the auto bro.....I dont like the sticks.
Y...you might ask....
Clutches and slave cylinders suck balls.....had two go out. one was def. my fault.
There is alot of lag in the throttle and clutch...I think
you cant open the clutch in the mud or water....toasted clutch #1
sucks when your half way up a steep as hill and the freaking jeep putts out on you and you roll back a foot while you take a shit in your pants and then you have to try to finese the clutch so you dont kill it again an it ends up smoking the clutch a little bit......
Wow that sucked to type out.
Yes i know how to drive a clutch but i wish i had my old trucks clutch in my jeep....
Def. your choice but the autos is def. what i wish i would have gone with.

for all its faults i still would take my 6spd any day. Autos are just downright boring.
i've had to replace my clutch as well as my slave cylinder now too. still wouldnt trade it.

As do I. However, if you are going to do a lot of rockcrawling I would consider an auto or at least gear really low so you don't burn out your clutch. I also don't water ford so opening the clutch in water is never a concern of mine. In the long run you save on fuel (if you don't hot-rod it) and clutches can last a very long time. It all depends on how you drive.
Sorry but im extremely glad i have a manual. two more forward gears and lower 6th ratio than the autos 4th makes it a easier drive and sucks up gear ratio/tire sizes much better.
I wouldnt trade it for an auto at all. We do nothing but rock crawl here, 4:1 rubi case and 1st makes it awesome. If you haven't driven one off road witht he 4:1, then thats what you are missing. I rarely use my throttle while rock crawling, all just the clutch and let the gearing do the rest. it is not hard on the clutch at all.
