Default Gas Mileage Improvement

I am looking for recommendations that get legitimate gas mileage improvements without flashing the computer...

Any suggestions?
Is there a particular exhaust/intake combo that works well?

I have an exhaust and AEM intake and my MPG was around 12 -13 but with the superchips I'm getting around 16-17 MPG. That with 91 octane tune. I don"t know if this helps. I think that only way to get MPG increase is with a programer. My 2 cents. I have 37s with 5.38 gears.

try and keep the rpm below 2500 when shifting saves lots.

Check the dozens of previous threads on this topic but in short - no. I drive pretty aggressively and have plenty of mods and get routinely between 17-18 mpg. That's with all my driving between 6,000 and 12,000 feet.

Don't add additional weight: wheels, bumpers, winch, lights, etc

Add smaller wheels, drive conservately and stay under 60 MPH.

I have a stock 07 2 dr soft top with the stock 16" wheels and tires and 6 speed. I'm getting 21.5 - 22 mpg which I'm very happy with. I shift at 2,200 rpm's and don't race stop light to stop light. Good friend of mine has a 09 2 dr with the auto and stock 17" wheels and tires and she's getting 18.5 - 19 mpg. She has the hard top on still. I'm ordering a 2.5" lift and tires and wheels soon but I'm not looking forward to seeing my mpg go down. On all my diesel trucks I have had over the years a aftermarket programer/chip has helped mpg so you might want to try one for your jeep. There pretty cheep to buy so it might be worth it for you to try one.

Not sure what gears you have, but turning off overdrive should be helpful with 3.73s. Won't be on the cusp of needing to unlock the converter and kick down as much.

Change gear sets to something that will place you into the 2300-2700 rpm range at highway speeds.
