37X13.50R18 vs 38x13.50R18 ?
I am not sure which tire to buy, I was originally going to go with the 37's but then found out they made 38's in basically the same tire, and well you know how it goes, bigger is always better. I want as much as possible so that my tires don't get lost with my 6" lift.
Has anyone run the Toyo 38's? I have to order the tires anyway, so its a wait for either tire. I can't really step up to 40's and stay with Toyo on a 17" or 18" rim.

Sorry I guess I need to clarify, I have already put the 6" lift on, changed front & rear diff's to 5.13's, put on new drive shafts, and slapped on the Bushwacker Flat Fenders. I am now buying new rims & tires, so just trying to figure out the best tire to use. My jeep is a Rubi, but I did not think of the Axle, I always assumed it was all good if I changed the gears.

It really depends on how hard you wheel though. You should have a set of C gussets welded on to prevent the C's from bending...You should also consider aftermarket axle sleeves and shafts.
I have a set of both toyo 37X13.5/18 and 38X13.50/18, I installed the 37's I had last summer on my winter rims and just installed my 38's last week , they run great . the 38's are not that much bigger
They have the 37/13.50 toyo open country m/t's in a 18"? I must have missed that one on their site. That's the tire size I want. Didn't see 37 so I was gonna go with the 38s. Prob go 37 if they have it in an 18".

In the Toyo MTs the 18" wheel is a better choice than a 17" wheel for 37s as the service description is much higher on the 17" wheel, suggesting not just a heavy vehicle but a really heavy vehicle. We would be talking about a JK that was in the 3 ton range or more. If your pushing that much weight by all means the 37s on the 17s would be a good fit. If you're not, I'd run with the 18s so you could run a more reasonable on road pressure in them.
I went to Toyo's website just to see what was available, I had heard good things about the Toyo's, and after running Nitto's on my truck, I would never buy a Nitto again.
I was originally thinking of using a 17" rim with 37's, but then saw that if I use an 18" rim I could use 37's or 38's, I thought why not, but wanted to get input form the Jedi Masters. The rim cost is the same and the tire cost is only $11/tire more to go to 18" vs 17", so not a big cost difference. The rims I am going to use come in 17,18, & 20, so I can use either the 17 or 18 and get the correct backspacing.
I think I might try the 38's.
I am a little worried about the Axle now, sounds like I need to weld on some gussets. Anyone remember if there is a write up on this or a thread describing the process?
Are the sleeves something that you can weld on without having to take the axle off/apart? Then again, I can't imagine welding onto an axle and not heating up all that grease to a point where you have to change it afterward.
