Default New wheels, tires & TPMS...anything needed with computer

I'm going to be swapping wheels and tires with my dad because he's selling his Jeep and he's giving me some of his upgraded equipment prior to the sale. He's got aluminum wheels that I like and tires I like, so we're going to trade them straight across.

My question is; does anything need to be done regarding the TPMS sensors from his Jeep being put onto my Jeep and vice versa? Will our dash lights come on? Or, should it just be an easy and mindless swap? I did a search and found some similar topics but nothing like a straight answer.

Thanks for your help!

you will not have a problem with the TPMS. so it sounds like you have a new set of wheels and tires your you JK!! Pics of them when you get them on!!

Yes, I'll have a new (to me) set of wheels and tires to put on soon. However, I want to make sure I'm clear with what I'm asking...

I want to make sure there will be no problems with the TPMS sensors from my Dad's wheels being installed on my Jeep and the TPMS sensors from my wheels being installed on my Dad's Jeep...we're just going to swap the wheels/tires straight across. Hope that makes sense. I just didn't know if the Jeep was specifically programmed for a certain set of sensors or if it's okay as long as there are sensors installed, regardless of whether or not they're from the same Jeep.

If your dads tpms sensors are not bad, your jeep should not even know that you have new wheels on there. It should work just like the wheels you have on now. In short, yes, your dads wheels should work on your jeep with no problem.

Default Update

Well, my dad and I did the swap this past Sunday and I'm happy to report that my tire pressure light did not come on when we mounted his wheels and tires. However, the light in his Jeep still came on when we put my old wheels and tires on his.

Before the swap:

After the swap (we swapped more than the wheels and tires...obviously, the ARB and winch were also put onto my Jeep among other smaller items, but that's for another thread)

What do you think?

I liked the Pro Comp Xtreme AT's, but I also really like the BFG's and really wanted his aluminum wheels for a slight drop in weight.
