Default 35" Goodyear MTR-K on 15" Cragers

So I have been thinking about biting the bullet and picking up some 35's soon, but I need to do something about carrying the spare. Currently I have the stock BFG Mud-Terrains on the stock 17" wheels. If I understand this correctly, it is the added weight of the 35" tires and wheels that can damage the gate using the stock spare carrier. Also, I am under the impression that the 35" Goodyear MTR-K's on 15" wheels might only be a 10 pound increase over the stock 32" BFG Mud-Terrains on 17's. If this is the case, is the extra 10 pounds of weight enough to cause damage to the stock carrier?

Default Um

I don't think it's actually the carrier that the added weight damages. The tailgate itself actually starts to rattle and sag. I forget who makes it but there is a carrier that bolts to the hinges where the tailgate mounts and goes across. That's the one I'm planning on gettin. Look into that.

Yea, I just worded my question bad. So will the 10 lbs of extra weight be enough to cause damage to the tailgate?
