Steering Stabilizer Upgrade and Lack of a Turning Radius
Hey All,
I took out the OEM steering stabilizer and replaced it with a Teraflex steering stabilizer yesterday. All seemed fine until I tried turning the Jeep to the right...the turning radius has been virtually cut in half!
However, when I turn it to the left, all seems fine.
My guess is that I need to adjust the bracket that the steering stabilizer attaches to near the front diff. If so, which way should I move it? To the left or right? And, how far should I move it?
Sorry if this is a Noobie question...I have been searching since yesterday and can't find anything.
Thanks all and happy 4th!

Something isn't adjusted right, the steering stabalizer should not be the limiting factor.
Loosen evertthing up, turn all the way to the left, and tighen the stabilizer so there is about 1/8" of the shaft showing.
If you're not able to turn right you need to move the tie rod attachment towards the passenger side.

I finally got a chance to take a look at it again and I am not sure of what to make of what I found. When I turn the steering to the right, it stops with about 2" still showing on the steering stabilizer shaft, severely limiting the turning radius. And, the kicker is, it starts to leak fluid from the stabilizer shock when it is left in this position.
The Teraflex shock is longer than the OEM steering stabilizer, and I think that the angle that is created when I turn the Jeep to the right stresses the dampener shaft, causing it to get pushed to the side and allowing fluid to leak out.
I do not think that adjusting the bracket will do anything, as the angle will still not be right for the dampener shaft to move freely from the left to the right.
Do I need a steering stabilizer relocation bracket, or have guys put the Teraflex on the factory set-up without any problems?
Thanks for the help
