Default What size tires for 17x9 wheel with no lift/mods?

I have a JK 2 door with 255/75/R17 on 17x8 stock wheels.

I'm currently looking for new wheels and tires. But it seems like 17x8 is a weird size for wheels.

Therefore, i'm going with 17x9's because there are so many more wheel choices.

Here's my question; what size tires can I match with 17x9 wheels WITHOUT any lift or modifications???

The stock JK wheels are 17x7.5.

It all depends on what backspacing you get for your new wheels. Anything around 4 to 4.5" would be fine. And you should be able to fit on 33x11.50R17 (285/70R17) with out any lift... MAYBE some 33x12.50R17 but you might have some rubbing at flex. I ran my rig with 17x8 4.5" backspacing with 285's for a while with no lift, no problems. Now I have 2" of lift.
