Want a 2 inch lift, but want to avoid pitfalls of 3 inch lift or higher
I'm new to the forum.
I have been impressed with what I have read on OME's lift for the JK, but there seems to be a consensus that this kit nets 3 inches of better. I have a 2010, 2Dr Rubicon with an automatic, and I'm concerned about the effect of the lift on other components. Is there another suspension lift out there that will gain 2 to 2.5 inches without going up to 3 inches in reality? And if so, should I really be concerned about the OME lift on the rear drive shaft as opposed to say... a Teraflex 2.5 lift?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks, Echo. I considered the buget boost, but figured there would be an advantage in upgrading the springs and shocks. The OME kit seems to fit the bill, but from what I can tell the HD springs place the lift on a stocker between 3 and 4 inches. That would be fine with me if all I needed was to add adj. track arms or control arms, but the issue with the rear drive shaft and the auto tranny is something I can't afford to tackle right now.
I guess I need to comb through the threads and see how the teraflex or RC kits pan out in terms of actual lift and see if OME is unique in this respect.

Get what you want, then add to it as you get the money...
Ome has several coil options besides the HD's. If you want less lift, get the medium or light coils. If you opt for the HD's, you still have options:
Axle centering - brackets are significantly cheaper than adjustables. If you opt for adjustables, you can get the rear and wait on the front.
Caster Correction - in the 3-4 inch range, this is something you will want. The best option is a single set of front adjustable control arms. Second option is new longer/shorter 'fixed' arms. The cheapest, and arguably worst option, would be Cam Bolts.
Bumpstops - consider adding front bumpstops. They go inside the coils, so saves you having to rip the front end apart a second time to add them
Brake Lines Brackets - $10 at any hardware store and 20 minutes of your time
Links - Consider a set of longer rear links, then move the stock rears up front. Doesn't have to be done right away, but there are issues with short front links when flexed. Look into this so you are aware of the problems!!
Rear Driveshaft - As you stated, the rear shaft on a 2door will be at a steep angle. But, it will not go right away. You will have time to save up for a replacement. (You will also need rear upper control arms to set the angles)
Front Driveshaft - Again as you stated, the front shafts have issues on lifted autos. A little preventative work will make it last longer. See post 6 here:

A better option may be simply to do a 2" BB with flat/chopped flares. Good luck on your choice.
