Default My lift plans...(Frankenlift)....see any problems?

Right now I have Skyjacker 2" pucks on with OME yellow shocks, terraflex longer sway bar links from thier 2.5 inch lift. I made my own brake line extentions. I have stock chopped fenders and 35" tires. I have been accumulating parts over the last six months or so and I'm about ready to go bigger. This is what I have.

Full set of BDS control arms.
Full traction rear adj. track bar
Rough Country 4" lift with dropped pitman arm, coils, shocks, and front and rear track bar brackets.
Teraflex front and rear bump stops from thier 2.5 lift.

On Friday I am ordering a JKS front track bar, JKS rear coil retainers, and probably a Pro Cal from Northridge4x4.

Anyone see a problem with running this Frankenlift? Any input on the components I have?

Should I use the Rough Country track bar drop brackets with the adj. track bars?

Nahhh, just get everything installed correctly, you'll be fine. If I were you though, I'd hold off on installing the rc pitman and trackbar brackets since your getting adj ca"s front and rear.

Wouldn't using them help my steering geometry? I've been reading a ton of threads and this stuff has my head hurting.

Ok, lets put it like this and just talk about the front, install an adj front trackbar with the lift and see if your ok with the steering and handling. Install longer pitman( which increases the stress on your sector shaft) install drop TB bracket (which increases stress on the stock mount) you will need to weld reinforcements. Add to that I'm not altogether sure the jks will shorten up enough to work with the bracket at your lift height. Maybe someone else with that combo may chime in.

The RC 4in lift's I've seen look more like 3-3.5in lifts after all is said and done. As long as your TB and draglink are parralell with each other you should be fine, until you get into the lifts that raise your front end 4+ inches you shouldn't need to mess with it, JMO, I ran a 4in Superlift and the steering was fine.

That's why I say drive it with just the adj. frt tb first, see what you think after you get your castor adjusted with the BDS arms provided they are adjustable.

Rear- Again, you really shouldn't need a drop bracket AND adj TB with this lift because of the actual lift gained. Weld re-enforcements if you do, again, not sure if the Full traction bar will shorten enough to get correct adj on the rear with the addition of a bracket on that RC lift. Maybe FT will chime in or someone else running that combo.

All that said, the steering correction will help some, getting it back closer to stock , but you may not even need it for your lift because of actual lift. But if you do add the pitman, bracket, know you need to take additional precautions( welding re-inforcements, sector shaft brace)
Edit:FYI, you cannot use the drop bracket without the longer pitman and viceversa, both have to be used to keep tb and draglink parralell

I hope I do get just 3-3.5 out of the rough country 4". That's where I'd rather be. I only got the rough country lift because it was so cheap it was nearly free. I"ve got the rock hard rear bumper with tire carrier which is super heavy. I've got a bumper from Nate's 4x4 that a buddy and I chopped down and made into a shorty on the front too. The rock hard skids as well. Hopefully all that weight will put me at about 3. I think I'll take your advice and try it without the pitman arm and track bar brackets first. If I do end up using them I will have my buddy weld in some reinforcements as you said. I am having him do the EVO sleeves, C2 gussets, and lower ca skids in a couple weeks anyway. I can put the lift on, get everything aligned, drive it a few weeks to see how I like it....then if it needs it, do the trackbar brackets and pitman arm when I have him do the welding for the evo stuff so I can have him do the reinforcements and take care of it all out at once. Thanks man.
