Red face Noob Body Lift Question

So i have a 4dr sahara, planning on TF 3inch at this point... i am trying to avoid going over the 3 inch threshold which creates issues regarding driveshafts, etc... is that 3in threshold including body lift or can you lift the body an additional inch w/o impacting moving parts below.... couldnt find the answer in search so any knowledge is helpful.

thanks!

By moving parts I assume you mean your drive shafts, control arms, and such. A 1" body lift will not affect any of those parts.

A bodylift will not affect your driveshafts.

Also, beware that many manufacturers rate their kit's lift differently. Some will call a kit a 2.5" lift. When it only lifts the front 2.5 inches and the back 2 inches.

I think you are thinking of a suspension budget boost (spring spacers) not a body lift.

Umm, do a quick search on those coils. Don't be surprised if you end up in the 4-4.5" range.

What size tires are you planning on running? The 2.5" TF coils (for 4doors) would probably be a much better option. Expect in the 3-3.5" range with them.

Will you be getting disconnects also? If so, be sure to flex it and check that front driveshaft. People are tearing the boot with as little as 2.5" actual lift height.
See post #6 here for some preventative measures...

I was referring to susp. lift. Should have re-worded to make the point more clear.

Wink thanks

hey guys,

thanks for the feedback... i am aware that some kits give you more lift than quoted but its my understanding that teraflex kits are more accurate on 4drs (vs 2dr)... but i will keep the 2.5 vs 3in in consideration. And no im not talking about a BB or spacers, i understand the difference from that and a body lift, i just wanted to make sure there wasnt going to be more issues created by adding a 1in body lift.

Thanks again for the feedback, feel free to leave more if anyone else has any info.

cheers
